UPDATE: I am so happy to say that from what I am reading over on SLATE, that this documentary will be just a great big THANK YOU card to Mr. Watterson. A history of the strip and the influence and impact it has made on other cartoonist!!

I am really looking forward to the release of Dear Mr. Watterson, but I have to be honest… I am a little nervous about it at the same time.  I would love to see a documentary about the history an creation of Calvin and Hobbes, but only if it respected Mr. Watterson’s privacy. A while back I watched the BBC Documentary In Search of Steve Ditko on Youtube, and I really enjoyed it. That is up until the last four minutes when Neil Gaiman and the host Johnathon Ross decided to go in and ambush him in his studio after being told no. I thought that was really crass of them. I dont think Mr. Gaiman would appreciate it a whole lot if someone hunted his location down and showed up out of the blue, and I thought it was extremely rude of them to do that to Mr. Ditko. My greatest fear about this movie is that I will see just that behavior, but I will cross my fingers and hope for the best!
